Swedish Institute’s Medical Esthetics program offers wide-ranging, comprehensive training courses for trending Laser & IPL treatments.¹ Broken up into 5 separate workshops, students receive a dynamic combination of didactic learning and hands-on training. Our program guides and infuses you with all the knowledge and understanding that you need to provide safe, effective patient therapy, and be successful in the medical esthetics field. All workshops can be completed in one day and offered on a rotating monthly schedule (see below for upcoming workshop dates).

Laser & IPL Training Workshops:

1.  Laser Skin Resurfacing & Hair Removal

Get trained in one of the highest-trending laser skin care treatments. This one-day intensive workshop provides thorough knowledge of laser skin resurfacing devices and laser hair removal (LHR), matching devices and treatments with patients, patient management and more. Students also get hands-on with hours of practice on the world renowned GentlemaxPro laser by Candela Medical. Students work on each other and models. Upon completion, students will receive 2 certificates: Laser Hair Removal and Laser Resurfacing Techniques. 

2.  Laser & Carbon Facials

The Carbon Laser Facial, popularly known as “Hollywood Laser Peel,” is a fun and lucrative treatment to offer to your patients. In this focused workshop, learn and receive a carbon laser Hollywood peel, in addition to laser resurfacing training. Students work on each other and models. Upon completion, students will receive 2 certificates: Carbon Laser Facials and Diode Laser Training.

3.  Laser Tattoo Removal

Tattoo popularity has grown over the years, with nearly 30% of Americans having at least one tattoo. Remarkably, it’s estimated nearly 23% of that population experience tattoo regret, making tattoo removal one of the most popular laser skin treatments.² This intricate procedure requires understanding and skill. Learn and practice Laser Tattoo Removal, plus photo-acoustic laser skin treatments for people of all races in this intensive, one-day workshop. Students work on each other and models. Upon completion, students will receive 2 certificates: Laser Tattoo Removal and Resurfacing for Higher Fitzpatrick.

4.  Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a well-known light therapy for treating conditions including benign pigmented lesions and dyschromatoses, vascularities, redness, and IPL antiaging. Because skin burning from these non-laser devices is a major concern, it is crucial that providers are properly training in both technique and safety. Our IPL training workshop has you covered! Plus, learn about IPL SWT (anti-aging active ingredient targeting self-regenerative stem cell technology), Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) and all the treatments that you can provide your patients in this intensive, one-day workshop. Students work on each other and models. Upon completion, students will receive 4 certificates: Brown Spot IPL Removal, Red Spot IPL removal, Antiaging IPL Techniques and IPL Laser Hair Removal.

5. Laser for Skin Conditions

With increasing focus on skincare, beautification and antiaging, the demand for laser skin treatments is on the rise. This one-day workshop focuses on the removal or reduction of brown spots, redness, Rosacea, angiomas, onychomycosis (toenail fungus), telangiectasia and more using laser devices. Learn, give and receive treatments while earning certifications for each of the 5 skin conditions listed above.

Eligibility Requirements and Pre-requisites:

• Licensed MDs and Licensed RNs, NPs, and PAs
• Licensed Estheticians, LPNs, and other licensed health practitioners not mentioned above must submit a signed waiver outlining NYS law eligibility to perform this treatment (this waiver will be provided by our enrollment coordinator for the student to sign and upload into their student file).
• The NYS Infection Control course must be completed with a passing grade, and Certificates of Completion submitted to the College prior to attending.
